Dr. Antonio Manenti, born on November 2, 1940, in Reggio Emilia, Italy, is a distinguished surgeon and academic with a rich career in medicine. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Parma in 1964 and completed his post-graduate training in General and Thoracic Surgery at the Universities of Modena and Bologna. A World Health Organization Fellow in 1972, he has been an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Modena since 1984. His research focuses on lung tumors, coronary artery pathology, tricuspid valve anatomy, portal hypertension, biliary tract surgery, and tumor immunology, solidifying his reputation for clinical excellence and dedication to surgical education.

Dr. Ken H. Young is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hematopathology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Previously, he served as the Medical Director of Hematology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, where he managed the laboratory operations for both the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics Core Laboratory. Dr. Young earned his PhD from the University of Lund School of Medicine and completed his MD training at Oregon Health Sciences University. He is board certified in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Hematopathology.

Dr. Young's research aims to identify molecular defects in leukemia and lymphoma patients using advanced techniques like gene expression profiling, immunophenotyping, methylation-microRNA-CGH arrays, and next-generation sequencing (NGS). He has a keen interest in tumor suppressor genes, oncogenes, and the p53 and NF-kB pathways. With a strong background in molecular diagnostics, he has made significant discoveries that improve the prediction of treatment responses, clinical outcomes, and survival rates in cancer patients

Dr. Nikolaos Papanas is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine-Diabetes Mellitus at Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. He has specialized in diabetes and its complications at prestigious institutions, including King’s College Hospital in London and the German Diabetes Center in Düsseldorf, where he collaborates with the neuropathy study group. With over 250 published papers and more than 3000 citations, he is on the editorial boards of over 40 international journals and actively participates in medical congresses. He has held leadership roles in several diabetes organizations, including serving as President of the Hellenic Diabetes Association and currently as Vice President of the Diabetic Foot Study Group of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes. Recently appointed as a Visiting Professor at the German Diabetes Centre, he is also an honorary member of the Cypriot and Hungarian Diabetes Associations.

Yi Huang is an Instructor in the Cancer Biology Division of the Department of Radiation Oncology, currently pursuing his PhD under Dr. Travis Loux at Saint Louis University, focusing on statistical learning and causal inference. He completed his MS at LSU Health Science Center in 2016, where he explored statistical learning techniques in clinical trials. Previously, as a senior statistician in the Department of Radiation Oncology, he developed a keen interest in clinical trials, leading efforts in trial design, retrospective studies, and preclinical research. Yi collaborates closely with members of the Clinical, Physics, and Biology Divisions to support grant development and ongoing projects. He is also actively involved in mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral researchers through various educational initiatives, including teaching programs and journal clubs.

In the Cancer Biology Division, Yi provides statistical support for a wide range of ongoing and developing research projects within the Department of Radiation Oncology. His research focuses on causal inference and statistical learning, specifically applying propensity score matching methods to clustered data..

Dr. Mingtao Zeng is a tenured Associate Professor at the Center of Emphasis in Infectious Diseases within the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. He holds a B.S. from Sichuan University, an M.S. from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Tel Aviv University, followed by postdoctoral training in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley and Immunology and Gene Therapy at the University of Alabama. Over the past decade, Dr. Zeng has focused on developing next-generation vaccines and molecular therapeutics for respiratory pathogens like influenza and Streptococcus pneumoniae, as well as biodefense agents such as Bacillus anthracis and botulinum neurotoxins. His research also examines the impact of vaccination programs on the epidemiology of pathogens and the cellular and molecular responses to infection and vaccination. Dr. Zeng has actively participated in grant review committees for the NIH and Department of Defense and has served on the editorial boards of several journals while reviewing numerous manuscripts.

Dr. Neuspiel earned his MD from New Jersey Medical School and completed his pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He furthered his education with a research fellowship in epidemiology and an MPH at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health. His research interests include sudden death, asthma, addiction, and patient safety, resulting in 195 published articles, chapters, and abstracts. He has served on various editorial boards and national committees for professional organizations. Dr. Neuspiel has held significant roles, including Director of Ambulatory Pediatrics at Carolinas HealthCare System and Medical Director of Myers Park Pediatrics in Charlotte, NC, focusing on care for immigrant children. He has also provided primary care to underserved children at several academic medical centers in New York City. Currently, he is a Professor of Pediatrics at Atrium Health and has been affiliated with both the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

I am a nurse and faculty member at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, Canada, where I teach in the Faculty of Nursing. I earned my undergraduate degree at UNB, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Nursing from the University of Manchester, England. With extensive experience as a Pediatric Nurse, I have recently developed a strong interest in supporting women experiencing depression. In the summer of 2015, I participated in the Anne Boykin Summer Institute on Caring, which reinforced my belief that caring is essential for healing. I integrate this principle into all aspects of my work, whether in teaching, research, or clinical practice.
